Novak Djokovic came out victorious against Andrey Rublev in his 46th major semi-final match. He has equaled Roger Federer’s men’s singles record.

He showed excellent performance in the semi-final in spite of a counterattack from Andrey Rublev.

Djokovic put himself on track for bringing his fifth straight title and eighth Wimbledon title before his name. This will be his 24th major trophy.

Through this victory, he has also assumed the No.1 position in ATP Live Rankings, leaving behind Carlos Alcaraz who will try his level best to reassume the lost position on Wednesday.

These numbers show clearly that Djokovic will be a very dangerous customer at SW19. All the dreams of Rublev once again were dashed to the ground.

The Serbian tennis star said that he always wants to play against a tough opponent like Rublev because, in such games, one has to absorb the pressure also.

He also said that he knows that Rublev wants to be triumphant against him but this is not going to be true this time.

Djokovic has also defeated Rublev in the Australian Open quarters and this time, Rublev was playing the first Slam semi-final but once again could not carry the day.

In the opening set, Rublev gave a tough time to Djokovic but he composed himself well in the next sets to be dominant and to prove his authority in the game.

He stepped into his 12th semi-final at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. In this list, he is behind Federer who enjoyed this moment 13 times.

Now, Djokovic has to play against Jannik Sinner who was triumphant against Roman Safiullin on Tuesday. Remember that they played against each other last year also where Djokovic came out victorious.
